Bootea Teatox Challenge |DAY 3|

Hey guys! Hope you are all doing well in your own world! It’s gone really cold here in Manchester and it was so foggy yesterday. It’s a sign that ‘Winter is Coming!’. So here’s my day 3 of my Bootea Teatox Challenge (Monday 3rd November). Hope you enjoy reading!

HOW I FELT THIS MORNING

I woke up quite late this morning, about 09:30. I am still off work with my anxiety so I have been getting up between 8am and 9am, so this was abnormally late for me considering I went to bed early the night before. I felt full of energy when I awoke though and because I had a fair bit to do today it was good that I had the energy when I awoke!

BREAKFAST

  • Beans on toast – 2 slices of brown bread with butter
  • Daytime Tea
  • Fruit smoothie – Mango, pineapple, orange juice and ice

I have gotten so used to drinking this tea in the morning and it is so delicious with a warm breakfast! I still like to have my fruit in the morning as it makes me feel fresh so a smoothie in the morning after my tea is the perfect solution when I don’t have fruit in my main breakfast.

LUNCH

  • Leftover risotto (See DAY 2 for ingredients) – minus cheese
  • Activia yogurt vanilla
  • fruit salad with walnuts – red and white grapes, strawberries and blueberries

My five-a-day gets completed by around lunchtime with the amount of fruit I eat. The risotto was a small portion as it what was left in the pan when I plated up so it wasn’t filling, hence why a fruit salad came into the mix! I have walnuts every day now as they are a good source of protein (And I don’t eat red meat or eggs) so a handful of walnut halves every day helps me beat my ongoing iron deficiency, plus they are great for your hair!

DINNER

  • KFC (Naughty alert!) – boneless banquet for one with diet pepsi…large!
  • Bedtime tea (Long after)

I felt really guilty after eating this, but it was a late dinner option as yet more painting was done in the evening, and a search for a bed was in practise too. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it though, as I haven’t had a KFC in a long time! It will definitely be a healthier meal for day 4!

SNACKS AND DRINKS

  • Chocolate muffin
  • packet of crisps
  • chocolate bar

I’m not making any excuses for my snacks, I am pregnant and have a sweet tooth! It can’t be helped that I want to indulge in a bit of chocolatey goodness every now and then. As long as I have my fruits and veg there’s nothing wrong with a bit of sugar!

EXERCISE

No hard exercise again, just more painting and shopping. I can’t do too much in one day and that’s not me being lazy that’s me listening to my midwife! I’ve had problems with the ligaments under my bump that make walking a painful procedure so I have been told to take it easy, but keeping active even around the house is getting my muscles working and keeping my metabolism going.

HOW I FELT THIS EVENING

Getting in bed I felt relaxed and calm. Drinking my bedtime tea while watching a film, feeling the kicks and jerks from my little boy, I felt totally refreshed from head to toe. Knowing I would sleep well was a bonus to my mood, and as imagined I did drift off easily. I still don’t know if it’s the tea or my attitude to healthy food, but it’s great knowing I’m sleeping like a dream and waking up feeling fresh and ready.
